Text Box: What is Field Day

Purpose: Called "Field Day" because for 1 full day we move into the field, working under adverse conditions, honing in those long lost skills.  We will setup at 6am Saturday morning at Northridge Medical Centers South-West Parking structure. We will practice our setup and operation of under adverse conditions.

Think about it, we get to sit atop 5 floors of a great set of radials, and it is a Tower in and of itself!

Our objective is to work as many other amateur radio stations as possible.  We will be exchanging information with stations scattered around the world.

What is happening on “Field Day”: We have 4 radios stations running non-stop for 24 hours from Saturday 11am to Sunday 11am.

Two of the stations have been setup for voice over long distance, the 3rd for local and the 4th is covering long distance but solely using Morse code.
